(ON HIATUS) 7+Fig Art Walk Shuttle--"Hazard's Pavilion"The Hazard's Pavilion shuttle is on hiatus following the February 2009 Art Walk. Please ride the Hippodrome and stay tuned for further shuttle announcements. Map of Art Walk with Hazard's Pavilion route. February 12 Schedule
The 7+Fig Art Walk Shuttle (Hazard’s Pavilion) will bring folks from the 7+Fig Art Space nestled about the office towers and hotels of western downtown to where the action is along Spring and Main Streets during the monthly Art Walk. Starting at the 7+Fig Art Space (at 7th & Figueroa), the looping route includes two spots on the Main and Spring Gallery Row Art Walk, the FIDM art gallery, Ralph’s Fresh Fare (where passengers can hop off to sample fine vintages with wine steward Mike Berger), restaurant row on Seventh Street, and popular Italian trattoria Colori Kitchen. Entertainment will be offered both on and off the bus, with two special performing “living bus stops” providing route information and dazzling amusement at select intersections. Sponsored by Brookfield Properties and 7+FIG at Ernst & Young Plaza, Downtown LA's Premiere Shopping and Dining Destination, and hosted by Kim Cooper of Esotouric, Hazard’s Pavilion is a customized luxury coach class bus, with plush curving brown leather seats, big screen television monitors showing historic L.A. films and photos, and a fascinating slate of Vaudeville-inspired performers making the most of the intimate setting with traditional American entertainments given an unexpected contemporary twist. Climb aboard Hazard’s Pavilion for a luxurious and amusing transition between downtown’s corridors of commerce and its wildest creative scene, every second Thursday during Art Walk. In November 2008, Esotouric was delighted to add a second extraordinary free shuttle bus to their repertoire, and like the Hippodrome it too is named after a legendary lost downtown theater that’s now a vacant lot. The original Hazard’s Pavilion, built in 1887 at Fifth and Olive Streets, was a huge hall that hosted boxing matches and religious revivals, and gave way to the original L.A. Philharmonic in 1906. It’s now slated to become the luxurious Park Fifth residential high-rise development.
